Occasionally, a user will improperly exit the application or a network connection will lock up due to unforeseen issues. An improper exit can be caused by, but is not limited to: closing the application screen without logging off, a computer crash or a power failure. Likewise, a bad connection can be caused by a loose network cable.
A user can only be logged into the system in one instance, so when this happens the user will not be able to log in again.
If the POS ID is in use when you attempt to log in, then the screen shown in Figure 119 will be displayed.
Click the Release POS Device button to end the current session, thus allowing you to log in.
